To Our AIO Community,
 
The Coronavirus presents a health crisis that we don't yet fully understand.  Many of our neighbors here in the Midcoast are already beginning to feel the impact.   It is our intention to continue providing food and supplies to those who need it using a modified process to protect the health of everyone.
 
For the safety and protection of our clients and volunteers, the AIO Food Pantry has revised our client service and volunteer procedures effective March 30, 2020.  The details of this policy are below and may be modified at any time.  We have now suspended our heating assistance program.
 
CLIENT SERVICE (AIO Food Pantry, 70 Thomaston Street, Rockland – Rockland Industrial Park)
Hours of Operation

  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:30am – 12:00pm

  • Wednesday 5:00 – 6:30pm


Food Distribution Process
All food distribution will take place in the parking lot.  No clients will be permitted inside of the AIO Food Pantry.   

  • Pre-packaged bags/boxes of non-perishable groceries plus meat and vegetables (as supplies last)

  • Number of bags/boxes will be provided based on family size

  • Pending availability, AIO Clients will receive feminine products, toilet paper, toothpaste and soap from One Less Worry


    Client Service Process

  • Pull into the parking lot, wait to be greeted

  • Provide your name, address, town, # of adults/# of children, head of household birth year

  • New clients fill out client paperwork before receiving food

  • Stay in your vehicle

  • Client roll down window

  • Open your trunk

  • Food bags put into trunk


​VOLUNTEERS  (Volunteer Website)
Volunteer Schedule
Open to Clients (client service)

  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8:00am – 1:00pm (approx.)

  • Wednesday 4:45 – 6:45pm


The Shift Managers will be coordinating their team of volunteers.  
Volunteers Configuration (Max 8 people)

  • 1 shift manager (operations manager)

  • 1 front desk / administration

  • 1 parking lot greeter

  • 1 incoming donations

  • 1 restock front tables as needed

  • 1 distribute to cars + 1 One Less Worry volunteer

  • 2 packing food bags / boxes


Volunteer Policies

  • AIO is taking this situation very seriously and will revise our policies as needed

  • Anyone over 65 years old will only be permitted to volunteer one shift per week

  • All new volunteers will be screened

  • We will be rotating our team of volunteers regularly

  • Hands will be washed thoroughly every 20 minutes

  • All volunteers will wear masks

  • We practice social distancing of 6 feet as much as possible

  • Only AIO volunteers are permitted inside the building

  • New Volunteers will be given an orientation and review of our procedures


Pantry Stock / Supplies

  • We are not receiving individual donations of food (financial contributions are most helpful)

  • We are accepting NEW reusable shopping bag donations (drop off during open hours stated above)

  • Restaurants and business may donate food items, which might be shared with other organizations

  • We will continue to pick up our local retail store donations from Walmart, Shaws and Hannaford

  • We will continue to place large food orders with Good Shepherd Food Bank for delivery to the food pantry or pick up at the warehouse in Auburn, and we will be receiving pre-packed boxes of food from Good Shepherd

  • We may distribute some perishable items which includes vegetables, fruit and meat (in limited quantity, while supplies last). 


Communication
AIO will stay in communication with the community:

  • through our Facebook Page and website

  • email to our community with regular updates (volunteers, social services agencies, congregations, etc)

  • notice to the local newspapers
